Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate sanitation activities to ensure timely and effective cleaning of equipment, production areas, and facility.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, BRC, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, Food defense and company-specific sanitation standards.
• Train, coach, and mentor sanitation team members on proper cleaning procedures, chemical usage, and safety protocols.
• Maintain and update sanitation documentation, including cleaning logs, and chemical inventories.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, materials, and parts needed to complete sanitation.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and collaborate with QA to resolve any sanitation-related issues.
• Monitor and report sanitation performance metrics and recommend improvements.
• Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and customers.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of sanitation equipment and PPE.
• Promote a culture of safety, cleanliness, and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within sanitation or production preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of: GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, FSMA, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Experience with chemical handling, titration, and sanitation validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with allergen control, cross-contamination prevention, and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and customer audit requirements.
  • Proficient in using sanitation tracking systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
