Job Description Summary

 

As a Senior Sales Analyst – Mass & Club Channels, you will play a pivotal role in driving our sales growth and market share at several of our largest retail partners, including Walmart, Target, Sam’s Club, Costco, and BJ’s.  Leveraging your analytical expertise, market insights, and strategic thinking, you will collaborate cross-functionally to provide actionable recommendations that enhance our brand presence and profitability. Reporting to the Senior Sales Director – Mass Channel, you will be a crucial link between our sales, marketing, and supply chain teams, ensuring data-driven decision-making to achieve our business objectives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the Mass and Club Channels. Develop actionable insights to inform sales strategies and improve performance.
  • Forecasting: Utilize statistical models and historical data to generate accurate sales forecasts and demand plans, ensuring optimal inventory levels and on-time product availability.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations) to develop and implement sales strategies that align with company objectives. This includes setting sales targets, forecasting sales volumes, and recommending adjustments based on market conditions.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate sales performance, trends, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of insights to support business decisions.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research and store audits to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior. Apply this knowledge to enhance sales strategies and improve market positioning.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for automation or optimization using data analytics tools.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sales leadership, category managers, and external partners. Ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with sales strategies and performance.
  • Special Projects: Support ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities as assigned to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in sales analysis, data analytics, or related roles within the CPG industry, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and optimizing performance strongly preferred.
  • Experience with syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI) and familiarity with retail execution tools is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Luminate/Scintilla and Madrid strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of retail and consumer trends, particularly within the Walmart ecosystem strongly preferred.

Specific Competencies

  • High-level proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach above shoulders, taste and/or smell, or talk and/or hear.

 

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:  The position is based in Northwest Arkansas with the employee working remotely (from home) the majority of the time.  Employee should be flexible to work 6-8 days a month from Eagle office in Bentonville/Rogers area, as well as travel overnight to customer or sales meetings 4-6 times per year.
