Responsibilities

  • PLC/Ladder Logic training/experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
  • Engineering related items
    • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
    • Equipment drawings and manuals (reading and understanding)
  • Operate & monitor boilers, water softener, valve adjustments, system repairs.
  • Lock out and Tag out processes
  • Corrective and preventive Action
  • Experience in Manager's Plus (PM software) or equivalent
  • Ability to use shop related equipment and experience in using precision measurement tools
  • Operate & monitor ammonia system, in case of ammonia release activate emergency protocol to evacuate plant. Ability to load ammonia and evacuate oil from the system.
  • Operate air compressors, replace filter, oil, perform regular PM.
  • Awareness of Regulatory Standards (FDA, OSHA)
  • Ability to calibrate flow meter, temperature sensors, level sensors &Chart Recorder
  • Able to work in confined spaces to perform repairs in silos, retort, vessels
  • Ability to troubleshoot retort problems, removal of dented cans, transferring timing repair water leaks, calibrate proportional valves.
  • Operate and repair: palletizer, polypack, timing issues, reliability, lug chain repair, wrapper machine, knives replacements, ability to solve timing issues.
  • Ability to properly complete mechanical repairs, drill, tap, cut weld
  • Ability to assemble and build control cabinets
  • Filler machine timing, replace values, repair can twister, replace sensors
  • Seamer machine timing, able to complete full set-up, seam check, nitrogen set-up, can twister adjustment.

Qualifications

  • Certification(s) in one of the following:
    • HVAC
    • Welding
    • Electrical
    • Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Awareness of Regulatory Standards (FDA, OSHA)
  • Experience in food manufacturing and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Technical degree (tech school or other qualified institution) and
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Tech in an industrial setting (Technical degree or certification should be in at least one of the following):
  • HVAC with emphasis or refrigeration systems (ammonia is a plus)
  • Electrical- schematic, motors, pumps, power
  • Welding
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Ability to person standards math (job related activities)
  • Computer skills-ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook Proficiently
  • Ability to operate a forklift (certifies license is a plus)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., Kneel Crawl and stand for long periods of time.
